er Hamburg und Germania Ruder Club offers children, young people and adults the opportunity to pursue the passion of rowing alone or together and to explore Hamburg’s waters as a sports area.
In our CLUB, too, there are various groups that are formed according to interests, sporting objectives or even age (youth department, etc.). Guests and new members will be helped by their respective supervisors to find access to the various groups and thus to make “entry” into the CLUB easy and pleasant.

Dedicated instructors look after guests and new members, beginners as well as advanced rowers who might want to take a tip or two.
Some are just 10 years old, others over 80, but they all share one thing in common: their enthusiasm for rowing. Whether fast or slow, in one or eight. Sport and conviviality connect all people in the CLUB. With such a large number of members of different sporting ambitions, everyone will be able to find themselves in the CLUB.
Apart from cultural and hiking rowing, competitive sports and racing rowing are an essential part of the CLUB. Many members from junior to senior look for the sporting competition and regularly achieve a large number of notable successes – from titles at German championships to Olympic victories!
Besides the normal members of the CLUB and its youth department, the boathouse is used by other groups. Cooperation agreements exist with companies, schools and other organisations to make the advantages of sporting activities as well as the social and integrative aspects accessible to the respective family members.
84 well-kept boats – from the practice one to the racing night – lie in the halls of the CLUB.
The gym corresponds to a fitness room and is available to every member for strength and winter training. Equipped with rowing ergometers, spinning wheels, power tools, dumbbells and gymnastics surface, it offers many possibilities for individual strengthening.
In addition to the own fitness room and the Alster as a running course, the joint circuit training in the sports halls of Hamburg schools is used as a sports facility in winter.
